An Astrology Argument | NPC Edition

Astrology is a belief system that suggests there is a relationship between the positions of celestial bodies and events that occur on earth. It proposes that the positions of the stars and planets at the time of our birth can influence our personality traits and possibly even our destinies.

What’s your sign?

By now in your life, you should know your astrological sign, whether from the incessant questioning from your resident spiritual kook or a genuine curiosity in the ancient symbols that suggest your birth has more meaning than cake and pizza. Astrology is an ancient belief system that suggests that the celestial bodies surrounding our planet emit energetic forces that can influence the patterns of life on Earth, from events to our personalities. Born out of the curiosity of ancient humans to make sense of the balls of light in the sky, Astrology has transitioned from the gateway of Astronomy and scientific discovery to a scapegoat to avoid taking accountability for one’s life. We all have met someone who has used their stars as an excuse for a behavioral trait they exhibit instead of owning up to their shortcomings. Or better yet, we have all met someone who judges our character solely on the symbol our birthday happens to fall under. “Oh, you’re a Scorpio…I don’t like Scorpios…” These people have missed and perverted the entire idea behind astrology, making it a sideshow at best.

Is it really that strange for people to share similar personality traits based on some invisible outside force? We have all met the “same person” even though they had a different name and face.

What about that personality was so familiar to us that we could recognize it in another so easily, yet they are so different?

It’s nice to believe that we are unique and couldn’t be boiled down to 12 personality traits, but we can. There is nothing wrong with Astrology; in fact, Astrology is 100% correct. The error occurs when individuals miss the plot.

How astrology works

Astrology is based on the belief that the positions of the planets and other celestial bodies work together to influence personalities, behaviors, and events. Think about it like each planet’s gravity having a specific resonate frequency that corresponds to different aspects (s) of life, and the specific arrangement of all the planet’s energies acting on Earth creates different energy combinations to influence life. The planet’s movement in the sky is tracked on a chart that shows which house and zodiac sign each planet is moving through at a given time.

For example, when you are born, your Sun passes through the zodiac sign and house, determining your most dominant personality traits. Your other Seven planets are also passing through a unique combination of signs and planets that help fill out the rest of your predisposition traits. From the moment you are born, the planets can be tracked daily for the rest of your life to tell you the unique combination of energies acting on the earth and how it affects you personally.

This is your horoscope.

The Sliders

It’s a pleasant thought to believe that we come into this world as a blank canvas ready to be made into a masterpiece, but we don’t. We enter life with a mixed pallet of colors already splashed around in a seemingly random order. Everyone has natural predispositions in every category of their life, and their environment and choices enhance those dispositions or extinguish them. Think of each new human as a [build a player] in a game with dozens of editable attributes. These attributes exist on sliders that determine how much a person has a specific trait or another. When you enter the “game,” your sliders are already set to a specific combination of attributes that determine your predispositions. These sliders aren’t set to decide who you will become; they are just set to give you a starting point. The sliders CAN all be moved in any direction you please; We are humans, not trees. We can choose who we want to become.

Some sliders are extremely easy to move as you go through life, such as your interests, hobbies, and presentation to the world. Other sliders, like your emotional responses and cognitive abilities, can be much harder to adjust because they are complex sliders. A complex slider intertwines with a combination of other sliders. This means you cannot just move one slider without adjusting other sliders in specific ways, similar to how a lock needs a key designed to slide the pins in a specific way. These compound sliders tend to feel like fixed traits because of how difficult they are to move. Regardless of the difficulty, we are human, and with enough perseverance, some of us can still manage to move those sliders despite the odds. Our personalities are not concrete or predetermined by some outside force on autoplay; we choose to become who we wish to be. Yes, of course, sliders like your height may not be able to be changed, no matter how strong your will is, but your physique is a perfect example of a slider that can be difficult to move in one direction and easy in another. Yet, with enough willpower and choices, we can still change that slider as we please.

Types Of Sliders

Mutable (easy to move )

Fixed (Hard to move and/or maintain )

Complex Sliders ( Require Multiple Sliders To Move In Unison)

Emotional Codes

When you combine all the sliders that make you up in your life, you can get a “code” for who you are. JS93HF8002HFH3920

Each one of these variables makes up your code, and as you change, your code also changes. You come into this world with a specific code based on the time you are born and where you are in the universe. This is where your astrology comes in; it is just a representation of the codec starting point for you to exist in the very moment you are born. Our mutable traits are our easiest slider to move, so these will be the traits that are immediately affected by our environments when we are born. We come into this world with a specific astrological code that changes each day slightly as we experience life. As your slider moves, the “YOU” changes, so whoever you were before that slider was moved ceases to exist, and a new you is born every time.

You can share the same birthday and year as another person yet have very different approaches to life and personalities. This is because we can consciously or subconsciously move our sliders in response to emotional stimuli, often out of a desire to seek emotional comfort and avoid pain. Our emotions are responsible for our choices, and our choices influence how our sliders will move. A stoic businessman with emotional insensitivities has a totally different slider combination than a gentle father who raises foster teens, even if the two men share birthdays and years. Their choices have moved their sliders in different directions, making them completely different people.

Astrology doesn’t tell you who you are; it tells you what your most basic level of programming is so that you are aware enough to make your own decisions to be who you wish to be unless you’re an NPC.

When you follow the path (NPC)

When you allow fear to rule your life and you blindly follow the path laid out in front of you, then…your astrology is probably spot on. Astrology works perfectly when you mindlessly live your life and never seek to choose who you want to become. Instead, you take the easy road and live within your predetermined roles; this approach to life will make you extremely easy to categorize in any personal assessment because you kinda don’t have one. You are living as if you were an NPC in a video game, following your script and not asking questions. For these people, astrology is like an institution for the rest of their lives instead of cheating codes to take control of building it. Astrology doesn’t tell you what your life will be like; it tells you what your life could be like if you don’t pick up the controller and start playing. You can make an effort to build who you want to be, or you can sit back and let the stars determine your destiny.

But who knows, maybe I’m just making stuff up; I’m an Aquarius, after all.
